The Village of Everton is in the north of the county on the A631 about 4 miles east of Bawtry. Itlies in a horseshoe formed by the Chesterfield Canal and the river Idle.
The Blacksmith Arms at Everton is a genuine, 17th century free house at the heart of the village of Everton. The are is a popular area for ramblers. Drinking area includes the locals bar with its original tiles floor and settle. Duck under the old beam between the bar and the lounge. It is claimed that the beam started as an acorn in Sherwood Forest, was then made into the crossbeam of a sailing ship before returnig to Nottinghamshire in its present location.. The restaurant puts an emphasis on home cooked meals. Friendly and helpful landlord and staff. There is en-suite accommodation in an area of converted stables. Barnsley Bitter, John Smiths Bitter, Theakston Old Peculiar and guest beers are available. Recently awarded North Notts CAMRA Summer Pub of the Season.
