Beeston is about 5 miles South West of Nottingham City Centre. This district of Nottingham is famous as the home of Boots the Chemist. Beeston was an industrial town with several 19th century mills, but has now been effectively absorbed into the Nottingham conurbation. Parts of the parish church date back to the 15th century.
About two miles South of Beeston is the Attenborough Nature Reserve. Established in 1n 1966 this area of islands and open water is a haven for wildlife.

The Victoria Hotel at Beeston is an atmospheric award winning Tynemill Victorian pub built 1899 next to the busy Beeston railway station - on the Derby to Nottingham main line. The pub is furnished in a simple tradditional way. Serves an excellent range of well kept beers. Picnic sets with heaters outside. There is an excellent range of good value food from a daily changing blackboard menu with a good range for vegetarians. Food is served in a no smoking dining area. Also Bar food.
