This popular
pub has lots of atmosphere and chatacter, with low
beams, flagged floor and wooden settles. It sells
a good range of real ales (eight) when we visited.
Has Food served at lunchtimes (not weekends). Weekly
poetry evenings and occassional beer festivals. Well
worth a visit.

Holbrook
Holbrook is a
large village on a hill with extensive views. The village is thought
to date back to Roman times as there is a Roman road called the
Portway that runs through the village and a Romano-British kiln
circa 350 AD has been found. The church of St Michael dates back
to the 18th century.
