Eyam
The Miners Arms is a 17th Century Inn and restaurant
built in 1630 and in addition to its reputation
for good value food and real ales is reputed to
have several ghosts. The inn has a traditional atmosphere
with beamed ceilings and stone fireplaces. Rooms
are available and if you stay the night you may
meet one of the ghosts! The two most famous are
Sarah and Emily, two poor girls who died in a fire
on the site before the inn was built. The Barmotte
Court which legislates over mining matters, regularly
met at the inn. There are picnic sets set out in
front of the pub in the traffic free street. together
with the village, well worth a visit.
